He then smacks Skad on the back. Perhaps a bit too hard to make up for his previous tender treatment of Ryushi.

Skad's head raises from his hands as Excalibur brushes against him during the Lord, and the Asian's moment. The part of the arm the sword touches turns a healthy pink, but fades within moments. The two feel the Scotsman staring at them, and they turn to him noticing the pink patch just before it fades. Soon it is a dead pinkish gray again. He shrugs and a look of determination crosses his face once more. In a thick Scotish accent he defiantly declares. I am not dead yet lads. There still something living in me. I can feel it. Now lets do something about this dragon thingy, and get back to the others.

He glances to Earle a little of the life back in his eyes. Earle is right if I try to kill someone while in one of these crazes try to stop me. Even if it means killing me.

He looks back two Brunehog and Ryushi. For now I'll stick next to you Barthalolomew. I feel more human when I'm next to the sword. He smiles knowingly at Brunehog, and chuckles. It seems like such a foreign sound coming from the man. There has been no joy in him for a long time.

Lord Brunehogg smiles at Skad and then glares back at Ryushi.

And that goes double for you Asian.. Yah had to go and get me all emotion-like and such... Got my tongue waggin' and blurtin' out me secrets. Let us never speak of this again... none of it! Right lads?

The boatman seems somewhat assured of Skad's stability, and pushes off. Two hours go by as the boat breaks through the calm waters leaving a silent wake rippling behind. A thick fog appears suddenly, and the man quickly moves to drop the sails. He directs Brunehogg, and Ryushi to watch the front of the boat for rocks as Skad mans the oars, and the other man the tiller. Earl seems content to watch everyone move at their assigned tasks.

Within a few minutes of rowing, and some slight adjustments in course to avoid damage. You set upon a sandy beach the boat driving right up on shore. It stops with a lurch sending anyone not braced into a stumble. No one is hurt, and moments later the five of you are on the beach. The boatman points to a trail leading up into the woods. The people I brought here went up that trail, and returned the same way. If you want to find out what they did go that way. Return when you are done, and I will be waiting. All I ask in return is for any answers you can give me into who killed my brother and why.

Brunehogg nods at Ryushi's comment and then secures his pack for a hike up the trail. He unsheathes Excalibur hoping the sword will warn him of any dangers ahead.

Stick close to me and the sword Skad. We don't want your zombie thirst interfering with our plans here. If the first lot of Morgain's chosen failed, then we'll be needing all of our focus on the Dragon.. not some crazed Scot zombie.

Skad nods and moves closer to Brunehogg. Earle steps off the boat and starts walking up the trail like he knows where he is going. Within a few minutes of walking the group comes to a clearing with a makeshift camp set up in it. There is no smoke coming from the chimney of the structure, and there is no sound at all. The camp looks tidy enough but there are still definite signs of a struggle and it looks like someone tried to cover up. Earl begins sniffing, and moments later Brunehogg and Ryushi catch a strong wiff of decay. While sniffing around trying to determine the direction of the smell everyone notices Skad staring at the structure. Without taking his eyes off it he speaks to everyone. There are four bodies in there.

You can smell em eh Skad? Well after the celestial then with yah and stay close to me and Excalibur. If yah get any of them flesh eatin urges let me know lad and we'll work through it together!

Brunehogg then calls out to Ryushi!

Don't get too far ahead yah D*mn dirty Asian! I don't want yah endin' up like the four that be rotten up there. Specially now since we're gettin along so well. I'd hate to have nuthin but the boy zombie tah make fun of all day!

He glances in and sees four bodies stacked haphazardly like they were thrown in to conceal their existence. There are no other signs of anything living. Including insects that should be feasting on the rotting corpses.

Ryushi lifts an eyebrow at the sight and the fact that not even maggots are feasting on the dead. He looks at Skad and Brunehogg, for once he is just not sure what his next move should be. "It is like..." He stops and realizes, "I have nothing." Ryushi hung his head in shame and shook it.

With that, he proceeded forward.

Ryushi and the others move along in general silence. They follow the clearly marked path which leads them to another clearing. The findings in this clearing are much the same as the last. The path leads from clearing to clearing showing signs of battle and brutality at each one. In each one dead bodies are found in much the same condition.

The group moves unopposed through the forest until they finally reach a large structure that appears to be a keep of some sort. The large front doors are open and one hangs lopsided on broken hinges. The steps leading into the keep are smeared with blood, and a trail leads inside the darkened entrance.

ooc couple of notes. First Ryushi's shield he used to protect the sailor shouldn't have worked because of the failing magic. It's not that important so nothing changes, but keep it in mind for the near future. Secondly Dan is in his crazy season at work, and I can force him (heh heh) to post, but only if it's really important. I will npc Brunehogg for the minor posts to keep this going.

Ryushi looked at the structure and shrugged, "Hai, this would make a wonderful summer home... minus the blood and guts of course." Ryushi stated, a bit of nervousness in his voice. Without his magic he was just another foot soldier, having to rely on his fighting ability. Setting his yari in a defensive position he crept forward. "You wouldn't want to go first would you Skad?" He halfheartedly asked.

Skad eyes Ryushi suspiciously and shakes his head. We are here to help these people not fight them, and I'm afraid I would have a hard time convincing people that I mean no harm. He holds out his arms to display is grey, dead skin as proof of his point.

Earl sniffs the air, and looks to the door of the building. There are men inside there hiding. They are alive, and afraid. He breathes in deeply again. I can smell their fear, and their determination. He looks to Brunehogg. Maybe you should approach.

Brunehogg scoffs. I am no diplomat, and find these peoples heathen ways unnatural. Let the Asian go. He speaks heathen fluently.

Ryushi sighed, he was going to put in that just seeing an Asian made most people uncomfortable but decided in the end it was pointless. He readied himself and stepped in and in his best Latin called out, "Operor non timeo , nos es hic iuvo. Nos es non amo ceteri quisnam have adveho per nuper."
